Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay 

Plasma from each mice was collected to evaluate the relative content of anti-mullerian hormone (AMH), 17 b-estradiol (E2),follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH) using ELISA kit (Jinma, Shanghai, China) following the manufacturer’s instruction. Briefly, the standardy and serum samples were added and adsorbed to wells of an ELISA plate, the enzyme-labeled plate was covered with microplate sealers and incubated at 37 C for 30 min. Then the wash buffer was used to wash plate for five times (30 s per time), 50 ml horseradish peroxides (HRP)-conjugated reagent was added into each well and incubated at 37 C for 30 min, After that the plate was washed 5 times again, and each well was added 50 ml TMB substrate A&B solution in turn and incubated at 37 C for 10 min. Finally, equal volumes of stop solution were added into each well, the absorbance was tested andcalculated in 15 min by Multiscan Spectrum (450 nm).

Detection of blood sugar, total cholesterol and sex hormone levels

Biochemical indicators designed to validate the effect of starvation on the pregnant mothers were: blood sugar,total cholesterol, PROG and 17β-estradiol (E2) levels. The blood sugar concentration was determined by collecting blood samples with the ACCUCHEK Active of Roche(Roche, Germany) and corresponding test strips. Thelevels of total cholesterol Comin Biotechnology, Suzhou,China, PROG LanpaiBIO, shanghai, China and E2 (Jinma Biotechnology, Shanghai, China) were tested following the manufacturer’s instructions.、
