Biochem/physiol Actions Carboxypenicillin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis (peptidoglycan cross-linking) by inactivating transpeptidases on the inner surface of the bacterial cell membrane. Analog to ampicillin.
Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, Pseudomonas.
