Description
Application Oil Red O stain is suitable as a lipid/lipoprotein stain on cellulose acetate. A 0.2% stock solution is prepared in methanol. The stock solution （35 ml） is diluted with 10 mL of 1 M NaOH immediay before staining. The dye begins precipitating during staining. After staining （1 hr）, the membrane is destained in methanol:glycerol （1:3）. Often cited for use with agarose
